Corrections & Removals

We research every company in this directory ourselves, from public sources. We get things wrong. When we do, we want to know — and fixing it is free.

If something on your listing is wrong

Email corrections@arborproof.ca with your business name, the listing link, and what’s wrong. If you have something that shows the correct answer — a page on your own site, a registration number, a certificate — include it, but don’t let not having one stop you from writing.

What happens next

1. We confirm we’ve received it, within two business days.
2. We check it against the source we originally used, and against whatever you’ve sent.
3. We correct it, or we explain why we’ve left it as it is.

We aim to resolve corrections within five business days.

What we’ll always fix

• Wrong contact details, address, or service area
• Services listed that you don’t offer, or missing ones that you do
• Years in business, credentials, or certifications that are wrong
• A WSIB status that doesn’t match your actual record — including coverage registered under your personal or corporate name that our search missed
• Anything about a business that has closed or changed hands
• Your listing confused with another company’s

What we won’t change

• Your LEAF Score, except by correcting the facts underneath it. The score is calculated the same way for every company. Fix a fact and the score follows; the score itself isn’t negotiable.
• Accurate information you’d rather wasn’t public, such as a WSIB record that shows no active account. We’ll happily note context alongside it, and correct it the moment your record changes — but we don’t hide accurate findings, for anyone, at any price.

Removal

If you’d rather not be listed at all, email corrections@arborproof.ca from an address associated with the business and tell us why. We look at every request individually rather than removing automatically.

Some situations we’ll remove without much back-and-forth — a business that’s closed, changed hands, or never should have been listed in the first place. Where a business is still operating and simply doesn’t want to be found, we weigh that against the reason this directory exists: homeowners searching it need it to reflect every real tree service in their area, not just the ones who opted in. We may ask a follow-up question, or decline, before deciding.

Correction is always available regardless of how a removal request turns out, and it’s usually the better fix anyway — a directory with gaps helps homeowners less than one that’s accurate.

There is no charge for any of this

Correcting your listing is free. Requesting removal is free. It’s free whether you’ve claimed your listing, whether you pay us for anything, and whether you’re pleasant about it. We have never taken money to change or hide a finding, and we never will.
