What “ArborProof Verified” means

A company with the ArborProof Verified badge has passed four checks, all at the same time. If any one stops being true, the badge comes off by itself, including on the company’s own website.

The four checks

  1. The business claimed its listing. Someone signed in with the contact email we had on file for them.
  2. A current certificate of insurance, reviewed by us. The business uploaded its certificate and we opened it and approved it. The certificate stays private. The badge goes away on the day it expires.
  3. A Certified Arborist or Board Certified Master Arborist. We found one in the ISA credential directory.
  4. A LEAF Score of at least 5 out of 10. See how the LEAF Score works.

What it does not mean

It is not a licence, an accreditation or an endorsement, and ArborProof is not a regulator. We looked at documents and public records on the dates shown. We do not inspect the company’s work and we cannot tell whether an insurance policy has been cancelled since we saw it. Before you hire anyone, confirm their insurance and WSIB coverage directly.

How it differs from “Verified by Business”

Verified by Business means the owner confirmed their own listing details. ArborProof Verified is stricter: it adds our review of their insurance and the arborist credential check.

Does it cost anything?

No. It is free for every company that qualifies, and paying us can never earn it. Money can never buy a higher LEAF Score, and the same goes for this badge.
